Vacation Music Club
Volume 1
Vacation Music Club is the collaborative creation of seasoned bassist/producer David Filice and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Matt Hartke, whose debut EP, Vol. 1, delivers a cohesive, polished take on acoustic indie-pop infused with subtle island influences. Born out of an arranged songwriting session—initially prompting skepticism about scheduling creativity—the duo quickly established a genuine creative chemistry despite their geographic divide between New York (Hartke) and Los Angeles (Filice). Anchored by Hartke’s warm, approachable vocals and Filice’s tasteful production and groove-driven basslines, the EP boasts contributions from sought-after session musicians whose résumés include collaborations with Mick Jagger, Kelly Clarkson, Smashmouth, and Ariana Grande.
Throughout the record, the songs balance breezy melodic sensibilities with deeper introspective moments. From the lilting romance of "Hear Me Out Evelyn," through the bluesy, laid-back charm of "Magic," to the reflective optimism of "I Believe," the tracks blend thoughtful lyricism and inviting melodies. With touches of steel guitar, mandolin, and organic percussion textures, songs like "Beautiful Day" showcase the duo’s affinity for classic production techniques reminiscent of pop’s golden age, combined effectively with a fresh, contemporary feel. Vacation Music Club's debut successfully captures the essence of effortless songwriting and authentic musicianship, making for a thoughtful and enjoyable listen suitable for more than just leisurely afternoons or coastal drives.

DMC and the Hellraisers
Raw Cane Sugar
NEW YORK (June 14, 2021) — Hard rock/hip-hop fusion powerhouse DMC and the Hellraisers announce the release of their debut EP, Raw Cane Sugar. The five-track record is unrelenting and grapples with the core themes of rising up, facing fears, and overcoming struggles. From start to finish, Raw Cane Sugar is gritty and honest in both message and execution.
Formed at the intersection of legend and indie, DMC and the
Hellraisers are a force to be reckoned with, as each of the five members brings a unique background and artistry to the
group. Their debut EP, Raw Cane Sugar, follows the single release of the opening track “Hellraiser,” a rock-rap anthem that throws a bomb on the collective anxieties of the past year.
Thick riffs and unrelenting drums lay the groundwork for creative interludes from DJ Charlie Chan Soprano and guitarist Rich Devletian, while the definitive basswork of David Filice ties the entire package together. The interplay between the rapping of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (Run DMC) and the rock singing of drummer Veronica Bellino (Life of
Agony) is a dynamic that’s showcased throughout the EP.
Overall, Raw Cane Sugar is a succinctly fierce statement from a band that says what they mean and rocks like there’s no tomorrow. Download the EP from popular streaming services and check out the band’s recently released Hellraiser music video on their YouTube channel.
